Here's a bit of background on some of the contributors to this issue:

  • Hume Baugh (cover art) is an actor, director and teacher in Toronto who since 2017 has added painter to his list of artistic occupations.
  • Charlotte Beck ("Middle Boy") lives with her family near Warsaw, Ontario.
  • Jason J. Buchholz ("Danger Man") works in the retail sector in Barrie, Ontario, while developing his writing career. Learn more about Jason at jasonbuchholz.net.
  • Edith Gallagher Boyd ("Loving Nicole") lives in Jupiter, Florida and is the author of Dancing in Winter and other stories. Learn more at edithgallagherboyd.com.
  • Alan Cohen ("Feeling the Breeze") is a poet living in Eugene, Oregon. Alan is only recently making public his trove of poems written and saved up over many years.
  • Mika Deneige ("Winnipeg, 2018") is a writer and filmmaker currently studying at the University of Toronto.
  • Robert N. Friedland ("Dad and the Bear"), a former Victoria city councillor, practices human rights law in Vancouver and is author of The Second Wedding of Doctor Geneva Song.
  • Harrison Kim ("Tell Us About Lynda") lives and writes in Victoria. The topics of his stories include his work as a teacher at the B.C. Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and other life experiences. You're welcome to visit Harrison's blog.
  • Laura Saint Martin ("Adventures with Red") is a writer of poetry and fiction living in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
  • James Nelson ("Mythical Moments") is a writer and cartoonist in Dublin, Ireland. There's more to see at James's website, jimnelsonstudio.
  • David O'Connor ("Blessed") is an Irish writer living in Toronto. Dave's website is davidoconnorwriting.com.
  • Violet St. Clair ("Where I'm From"), after teaching in Alberta for 30 years and traveling to 50 countries, is happy nowadays to devote her time to writing and languages.
  • James Thurgood ("It takes a village") lives in Calgary. He has a poetry collection, Icemen/Stoneghosts, and James also informs us that he is the author of His Own Misfortune, a work-in-progress.
