At the edge of Ko Olina
After the coffee shop
After going against the grain
Of rush hour morning commute
He sits in wind
On grass
Seeing the waves of Leeward side march relentlessly on.
They say, We have a job to do, and who are you to question us?
They pound the shore with white water froth
Where just minutes ago they were deep ocean blue.
We crash because we must
For we would have travelled on and on
But our momentum was stopped by this island shore,
They cry into the sand.
