Thanks for visiting the Spadina Literary Review.
Here's a bit of background on some of the contributors to this issue:
- Holly Day ("The Lover of Zeus") is a writing instructor at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis. Holly is a prolific poet and one of her recent collections is Book of Beasts from Weasel Press.
- Esme Noelle DeVault ("Granite Baby") is an attorney and poet living in Rhode Island with her husband and son and a dog named Charlie.
- Aliya Haer ("Vera Pushed"), writing from Ucluelet, BC, says that she likes to explore contemporary topics through fiction.
- Sara Hailstone ("Canoe"), is an educator and writer from Madoc, Ont., who orients towards the ferocity and serenity of nature and what we can learn as humans from the face of forest in our own lives.
- Dan Lalande ("By the Riverside") is a writer in Ottawa whose novel Death Comes to Vaudeville and memoir Reel Life are pending publication.
- Abe Margel ("The Cottage") is a former rehab and mental health worker living in Thornhill. Abe also appeared in this magazine in August and October of 2019.
- James Nelson ("Mythical Moments") is a writer and cartoonist in Dublin, Ireland. There's more to see at James's website, jimnelsonstudio.
- Ajanta Paul ("Moon Gazing") is principal and Professor of English at Women's Christian College in Kolkata, India. Ajanta's published literary works include The Elixir Maker and Other Stories.
- Tom Rand ("Climate Capitalism") is Managing Partner of ArcTern Ventures, a clean energy technology fund. Tom's most recent environmental best-seller is The Case for Climate Capitalism.
- Nolo Segundo ("Face of the Buddha") is a teacher and traveler whose poems try to explore "the inexplicable Mystery permeating each one of us." Nolo has a book up, The Enormity of Existence.
- Ajay Tulsiani ("Maybe One Day") lives in Mumbai. See some of Ajay's poetry in his collection Romance the Night.
