Here's a bit of background on some of the contributors to this issue:

• David Clémenceau ("Man's Best Friend") lives in Germany where he is working on a short story collection. Although French and German are his first languages, David says he thinks and writes mostly in English.
• Sara Dobbie ("Some Things Remain Private") resides in Southern Ontario and recently completed her first novel. Sara enjoys reading, writing, and playing the guitar.
• Gregg Dotoli ("Arboreal Royal Homes") is a white-hat hacker and poet living in Nutley, New Jersey. Gregg's collection Poetry Fob is available from Underground Books.
• Keith Kennedy ("The Fool, I Play") lives in Vancouver where he says he "writes wrongs and wanes poetic." Find out more about Keith's way with wayward words at keithkennedy.weebly.com.
• Elga Mannik ("Tale of the Teste di Moro") is the Europe-based associate editor of the Spadina Literary Review.
• Abe Margel ("The Cleaning Lady") is a former rehab and mental health worker living in Thornhill, GTA.
• Vic Marion ("Someone Somewhere") lives in Canada where she says she likes to write "long pieces about small moments."
• Gareth McGorman ("The Boxer" cover art) is a Toronto-based scale modeller and photographer. Gareth takes photos of hand-painted figures "that imagine how their lives would be if they lived in a full-scale world." You can see samples of his work on Instagram.
• Habib Mohana ("Falconry") is an assistant professor of English living in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. Habib writes in English and Urdu as well as in his mother-tongue Saraiki.
• James Nelson ("Mythical Moments") lives in Dublin, Ireland. Since losing use of his right hand in 2016, James has been drawing left-handed: "It's been a struggle to get my right-hand biased artistic neurons to send their stimuli down my left arm and into my fingers, but I'm getting there and every day I get better."
• Connie Woodring ("We Are the Last") is a former therapist/educator/social activist now returning to her true love — writing poetry.
