Such Gifts

by Etan Kerr-Finell

When I am even an hour or two
by myself, quiet by the water
or with a coffee and notebook outside,
when I see you again,
it is like finding an old good friend
in a distant country.

Even if you expected
to meet them there,
you would still be so glad
and thrilled with your luck,
that you were there
and they were there.

Such gifts I am given
every day with you.
